Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always loved saving up my money for a “big” purchase. One year it was a surfboard, the next a hair straightener, and then when I graduated from high school it was a two-week solo trip to England and Scotland. That was my first time traveling outside the USA, and from that point I knew that I would need to see more, taste more, and experience more!

About six months later, I met my now husband at university and we bonded over our shared goal to travel all over the world. During the next couple years, we began to travel to big cities in the USA, mainly because that’s all we could afford as college students. We spent many nights sleeping in airports (and still do sometimes) to catch the cheap 4am flights and spend one less night on a hotel. We made memories that we’ll never forget and even ending up deciding to move to Chicago after we graduated because we loved our weekend in Chicago so much! During those couple years of dating, we were also saving up for a grand trip after graduation, a three-month and seven country honeymoon! That trip was amazing, and we did it with the little money we were able to save from summer internships.
