Capital One Landing in DCA Review

Capital One is expanding their airport lounge offerings with the recently opened Capital One Landing at DCA airport in the Washington D.C. area. If you’re familiar with Capital One Lounges at DEN, IAD, and DFW; then you may be wondering how Capital One Landing at DCA differs. The high-end airport restaurant model is similar to their lounges, but the main two differences are that it offers a curated menu in collaboration with the well-known chef Josรฉ Andrรฉs and that it lacks the exclusivity of the true lounges. Here’s how to find it, how to get in, and a deep dive into Capital One Landing’s offerings!

How to Find the Capital One Landing at DCA

The Capital One Landing standard hours are 6:00am-9:00pm every day. To locate the lounge in Terminal 2, follow these step-by-step directions to arrive at the lounge’s entrance:

  1. Go through Terminal 2 north security checkpoint
  2. Walk straight ahead and the Capital One Landing will be on your left before entering concourse D

OR

  1. Go through Terminal 2 south security checkpoint
  2. Turn left after security
  3. Walk past concourse C
  4. Capital One Landing will be on your right before entering concourse D

The following airlines fly out of Terminal 2, so you will already be going through the Terminal 2 security lines:

  • Alaska Airlines
  • American Airlines
  • Delta
  • JetBlue
  • United

How to Get on the Waitlist for the Landing

While being a Capital One Venture X cardholder comes with access to the lounge, it doesn’t guarantee that you’ll get a spot at this exclusive dining experience. The waitlist can be long and there’s no way to ensure that a spot will open up for you before your flight begins boarding, but you are able to join the waitlist ahead of time by following these steps:

  • Open the Capital One app
  • Click on the “Travel” section of the “Explore rewards and benefits” tile
  • Click on “Lounges” at the top right of the app screen
  • Scroll down to Washington, D.C. (DCA) Capital One Landing and click into it
  • Either make a reservation if planning in advance or join the waitlist if you’re looking to enter soon

Special Features in Capital One Landing at DCA

The Capital One Landing may look like an upscale airport restaurant form the outside, and well, that’s because it is. The Landing is located in between two concourses right in plain sight. However, it is primarily for Capital One Venture X cardholders or those willing to pay the hefty access fee.

The Capital One Landing’s main focus is a premier dining experience where cardholders can relax and enjoy specially curated food while waiting for their flight. The location offers a variety of ways to dine including the following options:

  • Tapas bar
  • Sit-down dining
  • Drinks bar

Busy travelers will also rejoice at the high speed wifi, excessive charging outlets, and small luggage nooks throughout the space. These small touches make your airport experience much more luxurious than waiting for your flight at the gate.

The Final Take

The Capital One Landing at DCA Airport truly offers a unique airport dining experience in a busy airport. While it is different from the standard Capital One Lounges in that it doesn’t offer many amenities, it does have you covered when it comes to grabbing an elevated meal before catching your flight! Airports and traveling are usually accompanied by stress and hecticness, but you can relieve your stress knowing that you’ll be taken care of at the Capital One Landing in DCA.

If you are a Capital One Venture X cardholder and are traveling through the DCA Airport in Washington, D.C., then I’d 100% recommend showing up to the airport hungry and ready to indulge in delicious food before boarding. I’d also recommend you make a reservation in advance to ensure you can make it into the Capital One Landing before your flight. That being said, if you’re not a Capital One Venture X cardholder, I’d suggest eating before arriving at the airport as eating nice food at an airport is not worth $90 in my opinion.
