Updates in 1Q25
All the advice on the internet for starting your own blog always says to treat it like a business from the beginning. Well, that means we’ve completed the first quarter of my blog’s fiscal year! Below is a snapshot of all the items I want to update you all on, but keep reading for more details:
- New Meal Plan Segment
- New Email List
- Pinterest Updates
- Content Calendar Updates
- Analytics Tracking
- Income Report
- Long Term Goals
Update 1 – New Meal Plan Segment
When I created Little Moments, I wanted to focus on travel content but also leave the door open for other types of content as well. I now have two smaller content segments that fall under the “and more” part of www.littlemomentstravelandmore.com.
- Blog Journey
- Meal Plans
The Blog Journey segment is not one I’ll post about every week, but I like giving monthly or quarterly updates on my blog progress over time. I think it’s helpful to those of you who may be looking to start a blog for yourself since I can give you a REALISTIC timeline to track against if you’ve started this process yourself! It’s also fun for me to see my own progress and how my analytics are increasing over time.
The Meal Plans segment is my newer segment where I share meal plans alongside grocery lists and meal planning tips! I’ve always loved meal planning my dinners for the week, but I know some people get stressed or overwhelmed at the idea of meal planning and making a grocery list so I thought sharing my own meal plans could serve as a stress-free guide!
We’ll see how this segment goes and if I keep it up, but it’s already blowing my travel pins out of the water on Pinterest for both impressions and saves. I’ve written six meal plan blogs so far, so I’m excited to see what changes between now and my quarter two update. I’d like to develop a Pinterest strategy for the Meal Plan blog posts to bring in an audience and see if people engage with this content.
With this new segment, my posting schedule has shifted a bit since the last time I discussed it. I was consistently posting two travel blogs every week since I started Little Moments back in June 2024, but recently I have shifted over to a 1 travel blog a week and 1 meal plan blog a week schedule. This allows me to try out this new segment that I think I could really enjoy making content for without stretching myself too thin.
Update 2 – New Email List
Creating an email list was something I had put on my original “long-long-term” goals when I started working on Little Moments. I had read how beneficial an email list is in bringing back users which is obviously a great way to increase your audience and analytics. That being said, I had no idea how to start an email list and wasn’t sure if I was ready for the time commitment of creating additional “exclusive” content for the email newsletter.
I have decided that it’s better to start and be imperfect than to not start, so I created my first email list at the very end of March 2025. I’m using the service Brevo (formally called Sendinblue) to make my email list. The main feature that made me pick Brevo was that the free starter service offers both email and text messaging options for outreach.
For now, I have added two places to Little Moments where viewers can sign up to be part of the club! The first one is my homepage, where I have a sign-up box and viewers can pick if they want to subscribe to the travel group or the meal plan group.

The second place on my website where viewers can sign up is on any of the meal plan blogs a pop-up message will prompt viewers to sign-up for the meal plan newsletter!

We will see what this email list turns into, as I don’t currently have a plan to send out regularly scheduled newsletters or anything like that, but I think it’s good to have this set-up now so I can start to collect contact information. One way I would like to use this email/phone number list on the meal plan side of my blog is to send out a weekly reminder that the new meal plan has been published. I think this will be a good way to start building a returning audience!
Update 3 – Pinterest Updates
Pinterest is still the biggest driver of traffic to my blog! About two-thirds of my audience came from clicking on a Pin I posted. I have changed my Pinterest strategy a bit over the past few months, and I think I’m going to change it again soon, but first I’ll cover what I’ve already changed.
I was going pretty strong with posting two travel blog Pins a day for basically the whole time I was blogging in 2024. At the start of 2025, Samuel and I decided that Little Moments was going to be more of my thing than his and with that came some major changes in terms of time commitment. Now I write both of the two weekly blogs on top of handling everything Pinterest related. Because of that I decided to take my Pinterest posting schedule down to one Pin a day. My analytics weren’t hurt by that, surprisingly, and I still retained really good growth which I’ll show in the analytics update below.
Now that I’ve gotten the hang of managing two weekly blog posts, I would like to get back up to two Pins a day. We’ll see what my timeline is for ramping up to that, but I’ll like to be posting two Pins a day by the end of the second quarter (June). I also want to put more effort into my Pin development and maybe make a strategy for the meal plan side of my blog on Pinterest, too.
Something else I want to start to incorporate into my blogs are “Pin-able” images. I’m not sure how to do that yet, but I’ve noticed most blogs have these images with the Pinterest logo in the top and people can Pin the image to their Pinterest boards by clicking on the image. I believe this is what represents the “Other Pins” source in the below image and is a good source of growth which can lead to more website traffic.

Below is a snip of my Pinterest analytics for the first quarter of 2025. I’m so happy with the outbound click growth of almost 100%! I CANNOT believe I had over 250 people come to my website these past three months from Pinterest!! This makes me really want to focus more effort and energy in my Pinterest content.

Update 4 – Content Calendar Updates
My content calendar has evolved with the new meal plan segment I’ve added. I still post two blogs a week, but now one is in the travel segment, and one is in the meal plan segment. My travel blogs go live on Thursdays and my meal plan blogs go live on Sundays since that’s the start of the week.
I have also been trying to create some “series” within my segments. This is helpful for a few reasons, one being that it makes content planning easier because I can pull from the series and two because it helps my blog become more specialized in certain areas. For example, on the travel side of my blog a few of the series I have are below:
- Top 20 Phrases to Learn Before Traveling to [blank]
- A Perfect Day of Eats in [blank]
- Where Should You Travel: [blank] VS. [blank]
Update 5 – Analytics Tracking
Here are a couple different analytics that I’ll drop in here every month so we can track my growth!
In the first quarter of 2025, I had 326 active users, 323 of which were new users. This really make me want to work on my returning users stats, which is hopefully something I can accomplish through the email subscription!

Below is a snip of

Update 6 – Income Report – $0.51
In the first three months of 2025, I made 51 cents from Google AdSense ad revenue. This is not much, but I have hope it will be more in the future if I keep it up! Consistency over the long-run is key! It is worth noting that I made less these past three months than I did in November and December of 2024.

As a reminder, Google AdSense doesn’t pay out earnings until you’ve reached at least $100.
Update 7 – Long Term Goals for 2025
I am so excited to see where Little Moments goes, but I know that growth won’t happen overnight so I’m in the long-term consistency game. These are some of my goals for 2025:
- 5,000 sessions in one month by the end of the year
- 500+ outbound clicks from Pinterest in one month by the end of the year
- $50 from Google AdSense by the end of the year
I’ll measure my progress against these goals in each of my quarterly updates!
Almost A Year In
Now that I’ve been working on Little Moments for over 10 months, I’m really invested and think there’s a lot of potential. I will say that I haven’t been very strategic about the blog since I’ve started, so that’s my main focus area for this year. I want to strategize my content planning around keywords and season. I want to improve my Pinterest strategy to keep growing my organic audience that way. I want to learn about keywords and SEO, because I’ve been flying blind so far, but I’m really glad that I’ve stuck with this for 10+ months. Now I have over 80 published blogs and will hopefully start to rank higher in the Google searches, too!
All that to say, I’m going to stay disciplined and improve my strategy and hopefully the growth will follow!
Stay tuned for my next update coming in July!
